GUMMI MYRRHiE.— MYRRH.
SOLUTION OF MYRRH.
Liquor seu Liquarnen Myrrhœ, Oleum Myr-rhes per detiquium, Myrrha Liquida, Tinc-tura Myrrhœ aquosa. (Bruns. ; Dan. ;Hisp. ; Ferr. ; Fuld. ; Hass. ; Lipp. ;Lusit. ; Palat. ; Wirtem. ; Herbip;Piderit ; Spielmann ; Swediaur)
Boil an egg till it is hard, cut it in half,remove the yolk and replace it with pow-dered myrrh; haying sewn the halves of theegg together, suspend it, enclosed in a linenbag, in a cellar, over a vessel which may re-ceive the liquid which falls. R. Myrrh, one part.
Distilled Water, four parts.
Digest in a water-bath, and strain through
linen. (Hamb. ; Olden.; Pol. ; Borus.;
Sax. ; Swediaur)
Hann. prescribes one part of myrrh andtwo parts of water.
R. Aqueous Extract of Myrrh, two drams.
Oil of Wax, half an ounce.
Triturate till dissolved. (Piderit)
R. Myrrh, three drams.
Hydromel, half an ounce.
Dissolve. (Lusit.)
Dan. directs as much myrrh as possibleto be dissolved in hydromel. — Fuld. — twodrams of myrrh, in half an ounce of hy-dromel.
R. Aqueous Extract of Myrrh, two drams.
Honey, one dram.
Water, three drams.
Triturate till perfectly dissolved. (Ferr.;

it is applied, as balsamic and antiseptic,to ulcers.
ALKALINE SOLUTION OF MYRRH.
Solutio seu Essentia Myrrhœ alcalisata. Li-quor Myrrhœ alcalisatus. (Swediaur)
R. Myrrh, two ounces.
Boiling Water, eight ounces.
Subcarbonate of Soda, one dram.
Digest in a water-bath for two days, stir-ring frequently, and strain.Dose, one ounce, several times a day.

R. Quick Lime, two ounces.
Myrrh, one ounce.
Triturate in a marble mortar, addinggradually,
Water, two pounds.
Digest for several days, and decant.
It is applied, in injections, to fistulousulcers.

R. Myrrh, bruised, four ounces.Rectified Spirit, three jiinfs.
Macerate for fourteen days, andfilter. (Lond.)

Proof Spirit, a pint and a half.
Rectified Spirit, half a pint.
Digest for seven days, and strain.(Dubl.)
R. Myrrh, bruised, three ounces.
Alcohol, twenty ounces.
Water, ten ounces.
Digest for seven days, and filter.

Camphor, two drams.
Distilled Water, three ounces.
Triturate together, dry, pulverize, anddigest with
Alcohol, two pounds.
