GALBANUM.

Then add

Saffron, triturated with a few

drops of Alcohol, six drams.

Piderit prescribes six drams of galba-num, one ounce of turpentine, six ouncesof melilot plaster, one ounce of wax, andsix drams of saffron. Amst. one pound ofgalbanum, four ounces of turpentine, onepound of simple plaster, half a pound ofwax, and one ounce and a half of saffron.R. Yellow Wax, of each,

Turpentine, One ounce.

Melilot Plaster, six ounces.

Add to these slowly melted together,Powdered Galbanum, six ounces.

Saffron triturated with Alcohol,

one ounce.

Turpentine, one ounce.

Hisp. prescribes six ounces of galbanum,four of each of the two plasters, two ofwax, one of turpentine, and six drams ofsaffron. Hann. six ounces of galbanum,three of each of the two plasters, two of wax,one of turpentine, and six drams of saffron.It is stimulant, and resolvent.The firstformula is the only reasonable one.

Palat.; and Wirtem. prescribe oneounce and a half each of galbanum, of sa-gapenum, and of assafcetida, and a sufficientquantity of vinegar of rue to form them intoa paste, one ounce and a half of turpentine,four ounces of yellow wax, one ounce ofmyrrh, one dram of castor, one scruple ofoil of angelica, and one scruple of oil ofamber.
