These solutions are employed in the formof rollyrium, or in that of injection inblenorrhcea.

Van Mons proposes to triturate toge-ther twelve grains of sulphate of zinc, halfa dram of acetate of lead, six ounces ofrose water to be added, and the solutionfiltered ; he gives this under the name ofOphthalmic Liquor. — Ellis alsogives, underthe name of Astringent Collyrium, a solu-tion of six grains each, of sulphate of zincand of subacetate of lead, in four ounces ofrose water.

It would be better to dissolve the dryacetate in rose water ; a scruple, for in-stance, of the salt in eight ounces of thewater.

Ellis gives an astringent injection forgonorrhoea, of eight grains of acetate ofzinc dissolved in four ounces of rose water.

Augustin quotes a similar injection,which he extols in the same case, consist-ing of eight or ten grains of the acetate dis-solved in four or six ounces of distilledwater.

Pierquin prescribes a collyrium pre-pared with one dr;un and a half of sulphateof zinc, two scruples of acetate of lead, andfour ounces each of plantain water, and ofrose water.

Rectified Spirit, sixteen parts.Macerate for a week, occasionallyagitating, and filter through paper.

It is employed in collyrium, and in injec-tions in blenorrhcea.
