The leaves {Folia seu Herta Sabinm) areemployed. They are oval, opposite, ratheracute, and convex at the back. They havea resinous, aromatic, and very penetrating;odour. Their taste is very bitter.
It is powerfully stimulant, irritant, andemmenagogue.

Macerate for four days in a warm place ;then boil for a short time, express, and eva-porate to the consistence of an extract.(Palat. ; Wirtem.)
Ferr. directs one part of savine to beboiled in three parts of water, and the de-coction to be clarified and evaporated.

one part,eight parts.
Infuse for twenty-four hours ; then boilfor a quarter of an hour, and strain withstrong expression : boil the residue with fourparts of water. Mix the two decoctions,and after twenty-four hours' repose, evapo-rate to the proper consistence. (Sax.)
