Digest in a covered vessel for half anhour, and strain. (Cast. Borus. ; Wur-ceb. ; Augustin)
Ratier prescribes two drams of juniperand two pounds of water. — Niemann — oneounce of juniper and a sufficient quantity ofwater to obtain three ounces of strained in-fusion.
It is aromatic and slightly diuretic ; and isrecommended in the treatment of dropsies.— Dose, a glassful.
compound infusion op juniper.(Saunders)
R. Bruised Juniper Berries, two ounces.Juniper Water, two pounds.
Digest for three hours in a moderatetemperature ; then strain, and add
Rob of Juniper, two ounces.
Oxymel of Squill, one ounce and a half.Mix. — It is diuretic.
DECOCTION OF JUNIPER LEAVES.
Decoctum Juniperi. (Saunders ; Swe-diaur)
R. Tops of Juniper, three ounces.
Water, four pounds.
Boil down to two pounds, and add to-wards the end,
Juniper, one ounce.
Strain. — It is stimulant and diuretic ; and
is recommended in dropsy, asthma, and
diseases of the skin. — Dose, from four to
eight ounces, thrice a day.

Decoctum Ligni Juniperi. (Niemann)
R. Shavings of Juniper Wood,
half an ounce.Spring Water, sixteen ounces.
Boil down to one half, and strain.
This used formerly to be recommended inthe treatment of syphilitic diseases : theeight ounces were taken in the course of theday.
DIURETIC PTISAN.
Potus diureticus. (Sainte-Marie ;Swediaur)
R. Bruised Juniper Berries, one handful.Water, one pound and a half.
Boil for half an hour, and add whenstrained,
Syrup of Seneka, two ounces.
White Wine, eight ounces.
Mix. (Sainte-Marie)
R. Juniper, of each,
Mustard Seeds, j one ounce.
Carrot Seeds, s ix drams.
Leaves of Wormwood, three drams.Beer, four pounds.
Infuse without heat, and strain. (Swe-diaur)
carminative decoction.

Muriate of Ammonia,
Chamomile Flowers, two ounces.
Water, four pounds.

Mix.
