Root of Liquorice,Montpellier Maidenhair,Pearl Barley,Water, forty-four ounces.

Boil down to thirty-six ounces, addingtowards the end,

Flowers of Violet, five ounces.

Then make an emulsion of the strainedliquor with

Seeds of Mallow, five ounces.---------- Quince,

Then dissolve in the liquor,
