The seeds [Semen Fenugrœcï) are em-ployed. They are nearly quadrangular,ilattish, ohtuse at hoth extremities, andmarked with an oblique groove. They areof a deep yellow or brown colour ; theirodour is strong, sweetish, and disagreeable

when bruised ; their taste is bitter, farina-ceous, and mucilaginous.

Water, ten parts.

Macerate for twelve hours ; then boil,and express.

R. Seeds of Fenugreek, bruised,

eight ounces.Linseed Oil, two pounds.

Infuse for ten days, and strain.

touch, the colour of which varies fromwhite to yellow, to red, to green, and tobrown. That tripoli is most esteemedwhich is called Venetian, and which comesfrom Corfu ; it is schistose, porous, and ofa yellowish-red colour.
