R. Rosemary, -,Thyme,Sage,

Origanum, IMint, J

Water, a sufficient quantity.

Add to the decoction,

Tincture of Soap, four ounces.

Muriate of Ammonia, two ounces.

Dissolve, and mix.

VINEGAR OF ROSEMARY.

Acetum Rorismarini. (Gall.)

R. Flowers of Rosemary, one part.

Vinegar, sixteen parts.

Macerate for fifteen days in a coveredvessel, occasionally agitating ; then strainand filter.

AROMATIC VINEGAR.

R. Dried Tops of Rose- 1 of each,mary, > one

-------- Leaves of Sage, ) ounce.

-------- Flowers of Lavender,

half an ounce.Cloves, half a dram.

Dilute Acetic Acid, two pounds.

Macerate for seven days, and fil-ter the expressed liquor.

Lusit.; Suec; Fee ; and S wediaur pre-scribe four ounces each, of rosemary and ofsage, two ounces of lavender, two drams ofcloves, and eight pounds of \-inegar.

Vinegar, eight pounds.

Digest in a sand-bath, express and filter.(Dan. ; Olden.)

R. Root of Zedoary, "1 of each,

Vinegar, eight pounds.

Macerate. Add to the expressed liquor

Spirit of Rosemary, four ounces.

Infuse for eight days. Add to the ex-pressed and strained liquor,

Camphor, one ounce.

Two drams of garlic may be added. ( Ferr.)

This last formula furnishes a preparation

which much resembles the Thieves' Vinegar.

one ounce and a half.Spirit of Rosemary six ounces.

Digest, express, and filter.It is excitant.
