Sulphuric Acid (15 degrees),
a sufficient quantityto saturate the magnesia ; boil slightly,strain, evaporate till the liquor marks 25degrees, and set it apart in a cool place tocrystallize.
It is purgative, in the dose of from threedrains to one ounce and a half dissolved ina pound of water ; or, in the quantity ofone or two ounces or more in lavements.
It is incompatible with the hydrochlo-rates of ammonia and of lime, the subcar-bonates of soda and of potass, the acetate oflead, and the nitrate of silver.
COMPOUND SALINE POWDER.

------------------- Potass, three parts.
Dry the salts with a gentle heat,previously reduced to a fine powder ;then triturate them together, andpreserve in a well-stopped bottle.(Edinb.; Coxe)
Niemann prescribes one hundred andtwenty grains of muriate of soda, sixty-sixof sulphate of magnesia, ten of sulphate ofpotass, and half a grain of sulphate of iron.
Dose, one tea spoonful, in a pound ofwater.

Warm Water, four ounces.
Dissolve, and strain. (Herbip.)
