Linseed, \ of each,

Seeds of Fenugreek, J two ounces.

Water, a sufficient quantity.

Boil, and add

Infused Oil of Dill, ] of each,

-------------------- Lily, J ounces.

Boil to the consumption of the humidity,and strain. (Spielmanx)R. Root of Marshmallows,

Seeds of Fenugreek,

Water,

Olive Oil, > of each, two pounds.

Linseed Oil, JMacerate the three first in the water toextract the mucilage ; then mix this withthe oils, and boil slowly to dissipate thehumidity. Strain, and add

Flowers of White Lily, "I of each,

------------- Chamomile, J one pound.

Digest for twenty-four hours in a water-bath, and express. (Sard.)

This is the general process. But Gall.requires the bruised seeds to be exposed tothe vapour of boiling water for eight minutesbefore expression. — Lipp. ; and Borus. —the press to be heated with boiling water. —Bruns. ; Palat. ; and Wirtem. — the seedsto be heated.

This oil is considered a specific againstpleuritic pains, as well internally, in thedose of from half an ounce to one ounce inbroth, as externally, applied hot on flannelto the part in pain.
