R. Subcarbonate of Iron, one ounce.
Crab's-Eves, half an ounce.
Red Sulphuret of Mercury, one dram.

SUPER-PROTO-CARBONATE OF IRON.
This salt constitutes the base of the twofollowing preparations :
CHALYBEATE WATER.
Eau de Carbonate acidule de Fer. (Ferr. ;Brugnatelli ; Van Mons)
R. Iron Filings, one ounce.
AVater charged with Carbonic Acid,
one pound.
Put them into a bottle placed in a cellaror other cool place, and at the end oftwenty-four hours, pour off the clear liquid.(Ferr. ; Brugnatelli)
R. Sub-carbonate of Barytes, powdered,nineteen parts.Sulphate of Iron,
twenty-five parts and a half.
Triturate them together, adding a littlewater, put the mixture into a flask containing
Saturated Solution of Carbonic AcidGas, two hundred and fifty-six parts.
Stop the flask, set it aside, and pour offthe liquid as it may be wanted. (VanMotes)
R. Sub-carbonate of Iron, still moist
from its preparation, one half part.Solution of Carbonic Acid Gas,
sixty-four parts.
Stop the bottle well, and pour off the
