R. Fresh Leaves of Belladonna,

any quantity.Bruise them in a stone mortar, and ex-press the juice. Bruise the residue with alittle water, and express again. Mix thetwo liquors together, and set the mixtureaside ; then decant, and apply heat to pro-duce coagulation ; remove the vessel fromthe fire, strain, wash the fécula well, dry itwith a moderate heat, and reduce it topowder.

R. Fresh Herb of Belladonna,

any quantity.

Bruise them in a stone mortar,

sprinkling them with a little water ;

then express the juice, and evaporate

it immediately in a water-bath,

stirring constantly, towards the end,with a spatula.

Exhaust the herb by several successiveboilings ; then mix the decoctions together,decant, and evaporate in a water-bath.(Austr.)

R. Fresh Leaves of Belladonna,

any quantity.Bruise them with a little water, and strainthrough a sieve ; set the liquor aside, de-cant, coagulate at the fire, and strain again ;then, having evaporated it to the consistenceof pilular mass, remove it from the fire, in-corporate the dregs which were set apart,and evaporate again to the required con-sistence.
