The plugs weigh 6 ounces to 7 inches long, not beingof so dry wood as before. And this rate of the weight ofthe plugs to be continued till an alteration is announced.
The mean value of i, or point struck, is 89-29.
Here 439 lb weight of lead being taken off, at the distance903 below the axis; and the centre of gravity yesterdaybeing at 79-8 distance, when the whole weight was 934 lb ;therefore 495 : 439 : : 10-5 : 9*3 the change in the centreof gravity; and consequently 79-8 — 9-3 = 70-5 = g is thedistance of the new centre of gravity for this day.
