Afterthis the Bat never durst return to the Birds, but alwayes flies abroadby night.¶ HIS Fountain is within a great Cabinet of Grait-work, frettedwith wood and Iron, covered with Chervil Roses, and other Flo-wers, and contracted at top into a round Rome or Coupel which isenvironed round about with a little Balistre, on the Cornish and under-the Arch of this Appartment sit divers sorts of Fouwls vomiting outwater into the Cistern or Laver below made of fine Rock work: inthe middle whereof stands a Rock, which severall Fourfooted beastascend, and cast out water against the Birds. round about within thisenclosure, on small Rock are several other Beasts: and within fourare many more which spout out abundance of water, insomuch that itseems an active Battel. But what is most remarkable of all is the mul-titude of Creatures in different actions, as if they were incited to the bat-tel.
