FABLE.Les Paons & le Geay.E Geay s'estant un jour paré des plumes de plusieurs Pa-Lons, vouloit faire comparaison avec eux : chacun reprit sesplumes, & le Geay ain$i dépouillé leur $ervit de risée.Es deux costez d'un grand bassin, huit Paons placez sur de petitsrochers plus élevez les uns que les autres, vomissent de Peau sur leGeay. Au fond, sur un autre rocher plus élevé, un Paon, la queuë epa-nouïe, jette de l'eau, qui tombe par nappes en cascade dans le bassin.Au milieu de toute cette cheûte d'eau on voit le pauvre Geay presquetout dépouillé.FABLE VII.The Peacocks and the Jay.Jay, upon a time adorns himself with the Feathers ofdivers Peacocks, willing so to compare himself which them:every Peacock plucked out his own Feathers and left the Silly Jaythus be reaved for a mocking stock to all.IN the two side of a great Laver, or Gistern, stand eight Peacecks,upon so many litle Rocks, each mounted a litle higher than another,all spouting out water upon a Jay. Upon the top of a Rock higher than therest stands a Peacock; with his Tail expended very broad, and pouringforth water which full from one heigth to another at length falls downinto the Cistern. In the middle of this Fountain stands the poor Jay al-most totally deplumed.VII. FA.
