Abousaid-Jacmac, sultan of E-gypt, sent a fleet to attack Rhodes,which appeared before the capitalthe 15th of September .

The marshal of the Order defeat-ed this fleet.

The Egyptians made a new at-tempt on Rhodes in August .

and landed eighteen thousand men;but, after a siege of forty days, theinfidel general was forced to reimbark his troops.

Mahomet II. summoned Rhodesto acknowledge itself his vassal, andto pay a tribute accordingly.
