Double-refined Sugar four pounds.Diftilled Waterone gallon.

Boil the water, with the Marfh-mallowroot, to one half, and prefs out the liquorwhen cold. Set it by twelve hours; and, af-ter the fceces have fubfided, pour off the li-quor. Add the fugar, and boil it to the weightof fix pounds.

SYRUPUS CARYOPHILLI RUBRI.

Syrup of Clove July-Flower.

Take of frefh Clove July-flowers, the heelsbeing cut off, two pounds.Boiling diftilled Water fix pints.

Macerate the Flowers for twelve hours ina glafs veffel; and, in the ftrained liquor,diffolve the double-refined fugar, that it maybe rnade a Syrup.
