‘ will be fully accomplished, We are hereby pleased most earnestly to com-‘ mand Our Chancellor of the Order, and the Grand Crosses, Commanders,‘ and Knights, strictly to obey the foregoing Statutes; and We enjoin, at the‘ same time, Our said Chancellor to employ his unremitting care that the said‘ Ordinances be, in all their articles, not only thoroughly obeyed by the‘ Members, but duly observed by all persons belonging to the Order.
* In witness whereof We have with Our own Hand subscribed the present‘ Statutes, and caused Our Great Seal of the Order to be appended thereto.

“ We, George Prince Regent, in the name and on the behalf of Our Lord‘ and Father, His Majesty George the Third, by the Grace of God, King of‘ the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Defender of the Faith,
‘ also King of Hanover, Duke of Brunswick and Lunenburg, &c. Grand‘ Master of the Royal Hanoverian Order of the Guelphs, do hereby make‘ known, Whereas We have been graciously pleased, by Our Royal Decree of‘ this date, to make, establish, and appoint certain Statutes and Ordinances,
‘ in reference to the constitution of the Order of the Guelphs founded by Us,
‘ it is now Our further will to declare and ordain, by these presents, that the‘ following Articles shall be deemed, held, and obeyed, as part of the Statutes‘ of the said Order.
I. ‘ In order to give greater value and dignity to this Our Order, We hereby‘ ordain that such persons only shall be received into the same who are of‘ good descent and birth, entitled to Coat-Armour, and of irreproachable con-‘ duct; and that, if a Grand Cross, Commander, or Knight of this Our Royal‘ Hanoverian Order shall be guilty of any misdemeanour, the same shall be‘ brought to our knowledge by the Chancellor of Our Order, when it shall be‘ submitted for Our Royal decision, whether the name of such Knight shall be‘ erased from the List of the Members of the Order, and his Arms removed‘ from the Church of the Palace at Hanover, and the ancient Hall of Knights‘ within Our Palace there; in which case, a protocol shall be taken of the‘ whole proceeding, and preserved in the Register of the Order.
