the Oath, and pronounce the Admonition . 8 He is, moreover, to obey andexecute such commands as may be communicated to him by the Chancellor, andto be sedulous in his attendance to the service of the Order . 9
“ In all Ceremonials of the Order he is to be habited in a Mantle similar tothat of the Secretary, and shall wear on his breast, pen-dant to the Ribband of the Order from his neck, anEscutcheon of gold, enamelled, having on one side OurRoyal Arms, impaled with a representation of SaintMichael trampling upon Satan, and upon the other sideOur Royal Arms, impaled with a representation of SaintGeorge on horseback, and in armour, with a spear en-countering a Dragon; the whole within the Circle andMotto of the Order, and surmounted by Our RoyalCrown. At the Coronation of the Sovereign he shallprecede the Knights of the Order, and shall wear hisCrown as Our other Kings of Arms are obliged to do:and shall in all other Ceremonials and Assemblies haveplace and precedency among Our Kings of Arms next toand immediately after Norroy King of Arms .” 9
His Uniform is the same as that of the Secretary.

THE REGISTRAR.
This Officer has also always been appointed by the Grand Master. Bythe original Statutes, he was merely directed to enter all transactions whatsoeverwithin the Order, and the decrees and proceedings therein ; 1 but in the presentCode, his Duties are thus pointed out:
“ The Registrar shall be nominated by the Grand Master. He shall be re-sident in the Island of Corfu, or in one of the other Islands of the UnitedStates of the Ionian Islands. He shall carefully record all proceedings relatingto the Order, that may take place within the said United States of the IonianIslands, of which he shall regularly and without delay transmit a copy to the
