* Campbell, Robert C., geb. zu Woodville, in der Nähe von Augusta,Ga., seinem jetzigen Wohnorte, 1. Mai 1826, studirte und promovirte 1847 amMed. Coli, of Ga. und Hess sich hierauf in Augusta nieder, wo er bis 1860,zusammen mit seinem älteren Bruder Henry F. C., prakticirte. Von 1854—1860war er anat. Prosector am Med. Coli, von Ga., nachdem er vorher von 1848—54als Assistent desselben fungirt hatte. Von 1860—68 war er Adjunct-Prof. derGeburtsh. am Med. Coli, vou Ga., von 1857—60 Lehrer der klin. Med. am Jackson-Street Hosp. und von 1854—60 Physic. an demselben. Von 1857—61 war erMitherausgeber des „Southern Med. and Surg. Journal", in welchem er u. I, pag. 655), war nicht, wie hier angegebenwird, der Erste, der die Chir. in Frankreich lehrte, sondern in französischerSprache, statt der bis dahin üblichen latein., lehrte uud aus letzterer mehrereWerke übersetzte.
