* new Milk, one Lemon, and a few' Slips of Rofemary, and ftrain it
* thro* thick Flannel till it is fine.'This comes to us recommended
for a great Cordial, and fuch un-doubtedly it is. By confiant ufe, with a little diluting, it is very goodin Paralytic and Apoplectic Difpo-iitions ; and indeed in all nervousCafes. For thofe to whom it isnot difagreeable, it may be mademuch more cordial by the additionOf fome Gums of Musk : but thatis what with many is offenfîve.This Wine, with a much largerquantity of Milk, or J iv. of it toft ii. with a little Lemon, wouldmake a veiy pleafant Whey in Fe-vers, where the Spirits are almoitconquei'd by a long Confii£l, andwant fome fuitsble Recruits.

the Aqua Mirabilis of the College, without Difliilation ; which willyet be much higher, if Ambergreafeor Musk be added. A Dram of itnow and then in moifl cold Confti-tutions is of good fêrvice : for itwarms and prevents the Blood fromrunning into thofe Rheums and pi-tuitous Juices, which fluff up theprincipal Parts of the Machine, andobflrucr. them in their Offices ; oc-cafîoning Lethargies, Apoplexies,Palfles, Rheumatiihis, and ali that
Train which are the frequent Atten-dants upon a declining Age, whenthe Vigour of Youth begins to wearoff. But in Choleric and SanguineConflitutions, fuch Cordials as thefeare highly to be condemn'd, be-caufe they inflame the Blood, anddo much mifchief that way ; the con-trary Regimen, fuch as. This is a very good Diet-Drinkfor the purpofe its Title befpeaks,is eafily made, and not ungratefulto take ; the Ingredients hardly al-tering the natural Tafle cf the Ale.Its ufe ouiîlît to be long continued,to anfwer in> any Intention of mo-ment. For when peccant Humourshave once found vent by the Glandsof the Eyes, the Seat is fofar outof the way of ordinary Medicine, that a little matter will not reachit; and fuch things as thefe do fcr-vice in thofe Cafes, by graduallyabforbfng the Humours, and helpingthem off at fome convenient Out-let. Thus Diuretics, amongfl whichClafs Hog-lice ftand the fir ft, byprecipitating the Salts of the Bloodthro' the Kidneys in larger quanti-ties than they would othervife pafsthat way, leave fewer of them tobreak thro' other Glands not de-flin'd for any fuch Difcharpe ; andtherefore in all Defluxions of Rheumthey make the moil effectual Re-vulfions.
