'Preparations of Simples,

* again put upon the mixture, to

* extract more Tincture; and when

* that fpitting is again ting'd, draw' offtwo thirds; which put the third

* time to extract more Tincture,' and diilil as before, dill putting

* the Tincture remaining after Dif-' tillation of the Spirit to the firft' Tincture. Then take of Amber-

* greaiè 5 i. Musk 5 is. white Su-' gar-Candy 5 ii. grind them well' together, with a little of the Spirit

* laft drawn off ; pour them into a

* Matrals, and to them put 5 iv. of' the aforefaid Spirit : clofe the

* Matrafs well, and fet it to digeft

* for four or five days : Then put' it to the Tincture of Cantharides ,' (alio in a Matrafsj and let them' circulate together four or five' days more; then pour it into a

* clean dry Bottle, which keep well

* dopt for ufe.' •

The Materials muß be put toge-ther, fo as to prevent the Fumesbeing offenfive in every part of theProcefs. This may be pronounceda moil excellent Medicine, in manyCaiès where we have not usSitcceia-ncum, nor any thing tending thatway. It is a moil ilimulating Cor-dial, and cannot fail to excite toconjugal Intercourfes ; where a Con-ditution, by any Misfortune, hasfallen into a Coldnefs or Indifferen-cy that way ; for (if the Expreifionmay be allow'd) where there isFuel, it will infallibly kindle it. TheSafjrion, and all of that Tribe, arenot to be compar'd to it. In manyCaiès alfo, where doughy and coldHumours have clogg'd the Reins andGenital Parts, and thereby occaiion'dother Miichiefs, befides an Inabilityto Coition ; this Medicine is ofmighty forvice, and will anfwerwhere the moil efficacious Balfrmsand Turpentines rail. It may begiven from \o to 100 Drops, in a

Glais of Canary, or any other Li-quor which a Patient may like bet-ter. But notwithilanding theièCommendations of this Medicine,which indeed cannot be greater thanit deferves ; yet none but the trulyskilful mull dare to meddle with it:for by an injudicious Adminiftra-tion, it may occafion Stranguries,Erofions , Excoriations, and eveùConvulßons ; fuch is the differenceof an efficacious Medicine in thehands of a good Fhyfician, and anEmpiric. This therefore, as wellas all the bell Remedies, will forever continue a Secret, in thehands of the Learned, notwith-ilanding its Preparation is in theknowledge and power of everyPeribn. *

Preparation of Coral, and -all theTeilacea.

' This is done by Levigation' upon a Marble with Rofe-Water,• till it cannot be perceiv'd the leail' gritty between the Teeth, as was« before directed in the Lapis Cala-' minaris.'

After the fame manner are any ofthe Teflacea prepared to be takenin Subftancc. And they who wouldhave them as fine as poflible, mayafter iuch Levigation as preventstheir gritting upon the Teeth, mixthe whole with Water enough tofufpend it fome time : aftar a little{landing, pour off the upper part,and levigate the bottom again ; andfo do until the whole will remain fofuipended in Water for fome timewithout letting any fall. Then byHanding fome days, the whole willget down to the bottgm, and theLiquor may be pour'd off clear, andthe levigated Subilances drop'd withan Ivory Sp.'.tula upon a Chalk-Stoneto dry.
