Take of Quickfilver, purified,

Vitriolic Acid, of each one pound.

Mix in a glafs veffel, and heat them by de-grees, untill they unite into a white mafs,which is to be perfectly dried with a ftrongfire. This matter, on the affufion of a greatdeal of hot diftilled water, immediately be-comes yellow, and falls to powder. Rub thepowder carefully with this water in a glafsmortar. i^fter the powder has fubüded, pouroff the water ; and, adding more diftilled wa-ter feveral times, wafh the matter tili it be-comes infipid.
