Ourenemy has no idea of our true position, and thatthe breezes of spring and autumn carry ships, withCareful and intelligent pilots, down swiftly throughthe Lycian current, and straight into our harbour,without the possibility of stopping them. Dearestcompanions, this is what I assure you of; and youmay fully credit me, you that are here. For thoseothers, I implore their aid and command it. Letus hope for succours; but, at all events, feel quitecertain of victory. Most distinguished, mosthonourable confraternity, you see the immensity ofour perilous situation; but to us not perilous, fromyour incomparable bravery.
