The indication of disorder, the death ofLorgne, the installation of his successor, themurderous breach of the truce, and the sultan’sindignant departure for Egypt with the threat tobe back as he had first said in March and effectuallypunish them, being all parts of one whole, it is fairto conclude that they took up a short time; and itis distinctly noted that the three last ( viz ., breach,sultan and threat) occurred under Villiers . 2 Butif it broke two stout hearts to have even a dimforesight of the calamities in the next chapter,,should I not shudder at approaching it?
