[OFFICERS.

Sovereign’s Household; and they shall enjoy all privileges and exemptionsbelonging by right or custom to the Esquires of the Sovereign, or to theGentlemen of His Privy Chamber; and We do hereby authorize them at alltimes and in all places to wear the Badges appropriated to them respectively bythese Statutes, pendant to Ribbands of the same colours and width as havebeen appointed for the Knights Commanders.” 7

All the Officers, before their admission into their several Offices, take thefollowing Oath, before the Grand Master, the Lord High Commissioner for theIonian States, or the Chancellor; or before such other person as the Sovereignmay appoint:

“ I will yield obedience to the Sovereign and also to the Grand Master ofthe Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, in such thingsas appertain to the Order. I will not disclose the secrets of the Order ; and Iwill be diligent and faithful in the execution of my Office.” 7
