Master. 10 Doctor Magee, Archbishop of Dublin, having, however, objected toreceive this allowance, justly “ conceiving it to be inconsistent with the dignityof the Archbishop to receive Fees on such an occasion,” the grant wasrescinded by the Warrant of the 17th of May 1833. 1
The Chancellor’s Habit wasformerly exactly the same asthat of the Knights and Pre-late ; but in May 1833, theBadge on the shoulder wasaltered in the manner just de-scribed in the account of thePrelate’s Habit. 2
His Badge, which is ofgold, worn pendant at his neckfrom a sky-blue Ribband, is ofa square form, representing aPurse, having thereon a Circle,argent, charged with the Crossof Saint Patrick, gules, sur-mounted by a Trefoil, vert,having on each leaf an Im-perial Crown, Or, surroundedby a wreath of Shamrocks,proper, on gold.
THE REGISTRAR.
The rank of this Officer in the Order of Saint Patrick, is higher than thatof the Registrar of any other British Order. He is considered one of the“ Grand Officers :” 3 he wears the same Habit (except in length) as the Prelateand Chancellor; and, like them, he dines at the Table with the Grand Master
