John Gilbert, Bishop of Salisbury. Admitted asChancellor 22nd June 1749. Translated to Yorkin May 1757.

John Thomas, Bishop of Salisbury. Admitted asChancellor 30th June 1757. Translated to Win-chester, and became Prelate of the Order in1761.

Honourable Robert Drummond, Bishop of Salis-bury 1761. Translated to York in 1761.

John Thomas, Bishop of Salisbury. Admitted asChancellor 22nd September 1762. Died 20thJuly 1766.

John Hume, Bishop of Salisbury. Admitted as Chan-cellor 21st December 1767. Died June 1782.

Honourable Siiute Barrington, Bishop of Salis-bury. Admitted as Chancellor 3rd October1782. Translated to Durham in 1791.

John Douglas, Bishop of Salisbury, late Dean ofWindsor and Registrar. Admitted as Chan-cellor 12th June 1793. Died May 1807.

John Fisher, Bishop of Salisbury. Admitted asChancellor 18th July 1807. Died May 1825.

Thomas Burgess, Bishop of Salisbury. Admitted asChancellor 13th May 1829. Died 19th February1837.

Honourable Richard Bagot, present Lord Bishopof Oxford, and Chancellor of the Order ofthe Garter, to which Office he was Appointed onthe 25th of February, and Admitted on the 17thMarch 1837.

John Coringiiam. Installed a Canon of Windsor in1414 He is supposed to have been Registrarof the Order, and to have compiled the “ Regis-trum Ordinis Chartaceum.” Died 1445.

John Depeden. Installed a Canon of Windsor in1429. Appointed Registrar in May 1446 (VideRegister, Anstis, II. 129).

James f Goldwell. Installed a Canon of Windsorin 1458. Appointed Registrar in 1460. (Anstis,II. 168.) Elected Bishop of Norwich in 1472.

©Thomas Danett. Installed a Canon of Windsor in1471, and Dean in 1481. He was Registrar in1480 (Vide p. 497, antea). Died 1483.

Oliver King. Installed a Canon of Windsor in1481. Secretary to King Edward IV. and HenryVII. He was Registrar in 1488 (Vide p. 109,antea). Elected Bishop of Salisbury in 1491.

Richard Nix or Nikke. Installed a Canon ofWindsor in 1496. Elected Bishop of Norwich in1501.

Christopher Urswick. Installed a Canon of Wind-sor in November 1490, and as Dean in 1495.Died 1505.

Thomas Wolsey, the King’s Almoner. Appointed Re-gistrar in 1510 (Anstis, II. 272). Elected Bishopof Lincoln in February 1514, and Translated toYork in September in the same year.

William Atwater. Installed a Canon of Windsor in1499. Elected Bishop of Lincoln in Septemberl514.

Nicholas West. Installed Dean of Windsor in1510. Elected Bishop of Ely in 1515.

John Vosey. Installed Dean of Windsor in 1515.He was Registrar in 1519 (Anstis, II. iv.)Elected Bishop of Exeter in the same year.

Richard Sydnor. Installed a Canon of Windsorin 1518. He was Registrar in 1524 (Anstis, II.366, 393). Died in 1534.

© Richard Sampson. Installed Dean of Windsor inNovember 1523. He was certainly Registrar in1527,1 though the Register (Anstis, II. 393) says,that Dr. Aldridge was the successor of Dr. Sydnorin 1534. Elected Bishop of Chichester in 1536.
