She married Robert de Vere, 9th Earl ofOxford and Duke of Ireland, K. G. ReceivedRobes as “ Duchess of Ireland” in 1387, 1399,1401,1405, 1408, and 1409; and she was probablythe “ Countess of Oxford,” 3 to whom they wereissued from 1378 to 1386. Died 1412.

Isabel, Countess of Cambridge and Duchess ofYork, second daughter and co-heiress of Peter theCruel King of Castile and Leon, and wife of Ed-mund Earl of Cambridge, Duke of York, K. G.Received Robes as “ Countess of Cambridge”in 1379, 1384 and 1385; and as “ Duchess ofYork” from 1386 to 1390. Died 1394.

ANNE, QUEEN OF ENGLAND, Consort of KingRichard the Second, and daughter of the Em-peror Charles the Fourth. Received Rohes from1382 to 1394. Died 7th June 1394.

Eleanor, Countess of Buckingham and Duchess ofGloucester, wife of Thomas Earl of Buckingham,Duke of Gloucester, K. G., eldest daughter andco-heiress of Humphrey de Bohun Earl of Here-ford, Essex, and Northampton, K. G. ReceivedRobes as “ Countess of Buckingham” in 1384 and1385, and as “ Duchess of Gloucester” from 1386to 1390. Died 3rd October 1399.

Anne, Countess of Pembroke, daughter and heiress ofWalter Lord Manny, K. G., (by Margaret Duchessof Norfolk, grand-daughter of King Edward theFirst), and widow of John Hastings Earl of Pem-broke, K. G., to whom she was second wife. Re-ceived Robes in 1381 and 1384; and they arestated to have been also prepared for her in 1385and 1386. Died 3rd April 1384.

Elizabeth, Countess of Salisbury, daughter andco-heiress of John Lord Mohun, K. G., and wife ofWilliam de Montacute, 2nd Earl of Salisbury, K.G.Received Robes from 1384 to 1390 ; again in 1399,1401, and 1405; and as “ Countess of Salisbury,senior,” in 1408, 1409, and 1413. Died 14thJanuary 1414.

Joan Lady Moiiun, daughter of Bartholomew, andsister of Bartholomew Lord Burghersh, K. G., andwife of John Lord Mohun, K. G. Received Robesfrom 1384 to 1390, and again in 1399. Died1404.

Elizabeth, Countess Marshal, afterwards Duchessof Norfolk, daughter of Richard, and sister, andco-heiress of Thomas Fitzalan, Earls of Arundel andSurrey, Knights of the Garter, and wife of ThomasMowbray Earl of Nottingham, Earl Marshal, after-wards Duke of Norfolk, K. G. She afterwardsmarried Sir Robert Goushill and Sir Gerard Ufflete.Received Robes as “the Countess Marshal” from1386 to 1390. Died 8th July 1424.

Constance, Lady le Despencer, Countess of Glou-cester, daughter of Edmund Duke of York, K. G.by Isabel of Castile, and wife of Thomas Lord leDespencer Earl of Gloucester, K. G. ReceivedRobes from 1385 to 1390, and as “ Countess ofGloucester” in 1399. Died 28th November 1416.

Countess of Oxford, apparently Maud, daughter andheiress of Sir Ralph Ufford, Justiciary of Ireland,(by Maud, sister of Henry Duke of Lancaster,K. G.), and widow of Thomas de Vere, 8th Earlof Oxford. She is presumed to have been the“ Countess of Oxford” who received Robes from1388 to 1390, if not also between 1378 and 1386,and again in 1399. [ Vide Duchess of Ireland,

Lady de Vere, apparently Alice, daughter of JohnLord Fitz Walter, and wife of Sir Alberic de Vere,the King’s Chamberlain, uncle of Robert Duke ofIreland, K. G. He became 10th Earl of Oxfordin 1392, and died in 2 Hen. IV. 1400-1401.Or, Lady de Vere may have been Elizabeth,daughter of Hugh de Courtenay, 1st Earl of Devon,wife of Sir John de Vere, another uncle of RobertDuke of Ireland, and widow of Sir Andrew Lutte-rel, which Lady de Vere died 7th August 1395.Received Robes as “ Lady de Vere” from 1385 to1390 ; and, if she were the former of those Ladies,probably again as “ Countess of Oxford” in 1399.

Lady de Poynings, apparently Blanch, daughter of- Mowbray, and widow of Thomas Lord Poyn-ings. She and her second husband, Sir JohnWrothe, were dismissed from Court at the requestof Parliament in 1387, but she was soon after re-called; and in 1401 was one of the Ladies whoattended Queen Isabel to Calais on her return toFrance. Received Robes, as “ Lady de Poynings,”from 1385 to 1390', and in 1399, 1408, and 1409.Died about 1410.

Lady de Gomenies, apparently Anne, widow ofWilliam,son of John de Geaux Sire de Gomenies, a fo-reigner, who was in the service of Richard theSecond. She received Robes from 1387 to 1390,and in 1399, and was probably the “ Anne” or“Agnes Guneys” or “ Gumneys,” to whom theywere issued in 1408 and 1409.
