Article XXXI.

New paving the Streets.

The treasury, in 1771, advanced money forpaving the streets entirely anew; likewise formaking canals in them all, to carry away filth ofevery kind. The proprietors of houses engagedto pay a just proportion of the expence : butthe greatest part of the buildings in the city Va-letta belonging to the treasury, a large sum re-mained to be paid.
