* Ogston , Vater und Sohn, zu Aberdeen. — Der Vater, Francis 0.,wurde 1824 in Edinburg Doctor, war bei der Aberdeener Facultät Prof. der med.Logik und der gerichtl. Med., Physician des Boy's and Girl's Hosp. und lebt zurZeit im Ruhestande. Er verfasste : „Lectures on medical jurisprudence " undeine Reihe von Aufsätzen gerichtl.-med. und pathol. anat. Inhalts im Edinb. Med.and Surg. Journ., London Med. Gaz., Brit, and For. Med.-Chir. Rev., Lancet, Brit.Med. Journ., Casper's Vierteljahrsschr., Med. Times and Gaz.

*Alexander Ogston, der Sohn, ist um 1844 geb., studirte inAberdeen und 1863,64 in Wien, Prag und Berlin, wurde 1866 in AberdeenDoctor, war von 1866—73 Assistant Prof. der gerichtl. Med. daselbst, von1868—70 Augenarzt an der dortigen Roy. Infirmary, wo er zuerst Vorlesungen undDemonstrationen über Augenkrankheiten hielt und war von 1870—74 Ohrenarztbei demselben Krankenhause. 1870 wurde er Surgeon, 1874 Acting, 1880 SeniorSurgeon bei demselben und hielt seit 1874 klinische Vorträge über Chirurgie.Zur Zeit ist er Regius Prof. der Chir. bei genannter Universität.
