"White wax, two drachms ;Olive oil, three fluidounces.Melt them together over a slow fire, and stir them constant-ly until they be cold.

Unguentum spermatis ceti. Dub.Ointment of Spermaceti.Take of

White wax, half a pound ;Spermaceti, one pound ;Prepared hogs lard, three pounds;Make into an ointment.

This had formerly the name of Linimentum album, andit is perhaps only in consistence that it can be consideredas differing from the Unguentum simplex, already mention-ed, or the Ceratum simplex, afterwards to be taken notice of.

Ceratum simplex. Ed.Simple Cerate.Take ofOlive oil, six parts;White wax, three parts ;Spermaceti, one part.

Ceratum cetacei. LondiCerate of Spermaceti.Take of

Spermaceti, half an ounce;White wax, two ounces;Olive oil, four fluidounces.Add the oil to the wax and spermaceti, melted together, andstir until the cerate be cold.

This had formerly the name of Ceratum album, and it dif-fers in nothing from the Unguentum cetacei, or Linimentumalbum as it was formerly called, excepting in consistence, boththe wax and the spermaceti bearing a greater proportion tothe oil.

Ceratum simplex. Loud.Simple Cerate.Take of

Olive oil, four fluidounces ;

Yellow wax, four ounces.Add the oil to the melted wax, and mix.
