For theParts about the Çye are fo consti-tuted, both by their fpongy Fa-bric, and declining Situation, as tobe apt to receive whatever Humoursflow down from either the Peri-cranium, or neighbouring Mufcles ;infomuch, that it is not unufual fora Blow upon the Head to fettle downinto a black Eye.

Where the Defluxion is very thin,and has much of its Caufe in theLaxity of the Glands, fuch meansmay do fervice by conftringing theParts, and repelling the Flux, info-much that it may be thrown off" byother more proper Outlets 5 butwhere there is an Afthma, and veryweak Lungs, there is great reafon tofear Mifchiefs ; becaufe checking theRheum will thicken it, and make itpafs with greater difficulty thro' thepulmonary VeiTels, when in thecourfe of Circulation it comes thi-ther. The following therefore may-be lefs inconvenient, tho this ma»alfo be ufed in the fame manner,to burn upon Coals, only receivingthe Steams with a Cap before it isput on, efpecially at night going tobed.
