Tho this is particularly directedfor the Liver, yet it is conduciveto the fame Intentions as the fore-going Antifplenetic Drink ; andtherefore where that Compofition isapprov'd of, it may be us'd for thefame purpofes ; but 'tis more troubleto make it, becaufc it muft be donealmoil daily, or it will not keep.

* fufe warm for 11 hours ; then' ftrain and add white Sugar, 5 v.

* Damnfk-Rofe Leaves, m. ii. after1 due Infufion, ftrain again for ufe.'

The latter of thefe is the better,but there is no reafbn for the twofirainings, the whole being beft put3

together at once. If the Sena be leftout, it is a better Diuretic \ for thelefs it goes off by Stool, the morewill it get into the Blood, and dis-charge its ferous Parts by Urine. Itis therefore defign'd for HydropicConftitutions, and will do fervicewhere there is a tendency that way,if begun with in time, and clofelyfollowed. The ufiial Dofe is 5 iii.every Morning fafting. This is fromBates ; and Fuller gives the famewith little Alteration.

Vinum Iûericum, Wine againflthe Jaundice. ' Take Turmeric in' grofs Powder, J ii. Saffron, 9 ii.

* Cochineal, 9 i v. Millepedes, N*' 3 20. Canary, ft ii. Infufe all 6 or' 7 days, then ftrain for ufe.'

This is eafily made, and not un-pleafant to drink ; but white Portfeems a fitter Wine for this Purpofêthan Canary. It is very good forwhat its Title exprefTes, and may bedrank 5 ii. three or four times in aday 5 but the following we recom-mend as the mod efficacious.

Vinum Millepedum, Hog-LiceWine. c Take Hog-Lice, ft fs. put

* them alive into ft ii. of white Port' Wine ; and after fome days infu-' fion, ftrain and prefs out very' hard: then put Saffron, 5Ü. Salt' of Steel, 5 i. and Salt of Amber,' 9 ii. and after three or four days,« ftrain and filter for ufe.'

This is an admirable Medicine a-gainft the Jaundice, Dropfy, or anyCacheciic Habit. It greatly deter-ges all the Vifcera, and throws offagreat deal of fuperfluous Humoursby Urine. It may be given twicea day, 5 ii. at a time.
