* Heat. That which remains will

* be a iweet thick Tinclure.'

This is laid to be an excellentpectoral Medicine, and very power-fully to promote Expectoration-Its Dofe is from 40 Drops to3 ii. or a Tea-Spoonful, in anywarm Liquor, eipecially at goingto bed.

Spiritus Mellis, Spirit of Honey.' Mix ft i. of Honey with ft iii. of

* clean Sand, and put it into a Re-' tort in a Sand-Furnace j make a

* Fire of the firil degree for two

* hours : Increafe it to the fécond

* for two hours more, and fo go

* on to the third ; where let it re-

* main till no more Fumes nor

* Drops will fall. There will then' come over an Empyreumatical

* Spirit and Oil : Put them both in,-

* to a Cucurbit, and with a Fire of

* the firíl degree draw off the infi-

* pid Water, and che fécond will

* raiiè the Spirit.'

This is a Spirit only in the fameiènfe that other Acids are ; for thisis an Acid, 3od will diflblve Coraior Pearl, as diitiil'd Vinegar. Aqua Mellis Aromática, SweetMoney-Wat er.

' Take of good French Brandy' Cong. i. of the belt Virgin-Honey,' and Coriander Seeds, ana ft 1.' Cloves 1 ifs. Nutmegs 5 i. Benja-' min and Storax, ana 5 i. Benilloes' N° 4. the yellow Rind of three' large Lemons ; bruife the Cloves,' Nutmegs, Coriander Seed, and' Benjamin, cut the Benilloes into1 fmall pieces ; put all into a Cu-' cutbit, and pour the Brandy to' them ; and after they have digeft-

* ed forty eight Hours, diilil off the« Spirit in a Retort with a gentle' Heat.

• To one Gallon of this Water' add of Damask Roiê-water, and' Orange-Flower-water, ana ft ifi.

* of Musk and Ambergreafe, ana gr.' v. firll grind well the Musk and

* Ambergreafe with fome of the' Water, and afterwards put all' together into a large Matrafs j' (hake them well together, and' let them circulate three days and' three nights in a gentle heat :

* then let all cool > filter and keep' the Water in a Phial well ftopc' for ufe.'
