It is of apleafant Scent, and is much inefteem airongft the good Womenfor Weaknéfles they are fubjeir, to,and chiefly the If 'hite. The Shopshave a Spirit under its Name, whichis drawn from an intufion of theHerb in Spirit of Wine, and is verypleafant, and a rood Cordial. Et-muller will not have it give pace
even to Caftor, in hyfterical Affec-tions ; and affirms there is riot abetter Remedy in Cholics : But itis not now prefcribed to iuchPur-pofes.

Cup-Mofs. This, with fome otherMofles of like kind, have beenmightily in vogue amongft thegood Women for their Children'sCoughs, but they have not obtainedin officinal nor extemporaneous Pre-fcriptions. Dr. Willis is the bedAuthority we have for their won-derful Virtues, and he makes themalmoft infallible, in that which iscommonly called the Chin-Cough.
112. Plantaginis, Plan-tain, is diftinguifhed into latifolia,called feptinervia ; and angußtfolm,or quinquenervia, fometimes deno-minated Rib-wort. The Coronopusis a Species of it, but the firft fortis only ufed in Medicine. Thisflowers in May and June. It isreckon'd a great Cookr, and Stop-per of Fluxes, particularly of Blood,whether from the Noie, Mouth orUterus. It is likewife accounted,as mod others of this Tribe, agreat Healer of frefli Wounds.Some have had ftrange Notionsof its relifting Poilbns : And Tac-hius tells us, That a Toad beforeflie engages with a Spider, will for-tify hcrfelf with fome of this Plant;and that if flie comes off wounded,fhe cures herfelf afterwards withit.
115, Scolopendrii, Spleen-wort. This Plant does not flower :It is the fame as the Afplenium andCcterach of the Shops, but is littleufed in Medicine; tho' it is account-ed binding and ftrengthning. For-merly it has pais'd for a Detergent,and been reckon'd iiich a Scourer ofthe Spleen ( from whence it's fup-pos'd to come by the name of Spleen-wort)
