It isaccounted a great Dryer, and ismuch ulèd with Tobacco under thatNotion, in Rheums and moift Suf-fuiions. ■ Antonius Mufa wrote aTreadle about it, and commendsit much as a Vulnerary, elpeciallyin Wounds of the Head. Somerecommend its Juice boil'd up tothe Coniiftence of Honey, andmix'd with a fmall quantity of thePeruvian Sal/am, as a great Hea-ler. A Plainer in the London Dif-fenfatory has its Name fiom it, butit is little now in ufe. Bartbolinetells a very odd Story, Cent. 3.Hiß. 93. of a Gardener, who up-on cutting a Bed of Betony had hisHead fo affeited by it, that heftagger'd like one fuddled. Itis alio accounted Diuretic , andufeful in Decoftion, to Womenafter hard Labour. But it is byall reckon'd a very good Cepha-lic.

J. Camphoratjë, StinkingGround-Pine, diftinguiih'd by Cafp.Bauhine — hirfuta, the hairy flunk-ing Ground-Pine, is to be met within the Phyfic Gardens ; and it isrecommended by fome Writers fora Cephalic in ftrengthning theNerves, and recruiting the Spirits :but the modern Pharmacy ules itnot.

John Bauhine, and Viola Lutea ofGerrard. It grows on Walls andHoufes, and flowers in June. Itis faid ro be good in Apoplefticand Paralytic D.forders , to eafePains, and forward the Menfes. OurCollege have now order'd an Oil tobe made with it ; but it is not yetbrought into ufe.

j". Euphragije, Fyebright, isalio ibmetimes wrote Euphraßa,and Eutraßa, and by lome called . . .Ophthalmic*, and Ocularia, Eye- tjblClworr. The Euphraßa Officinarumof Cafpar Bauhine is the Eye-brighthere intended , and it flowers inJune , July , and Augufi fome-times. It is reckon'd a greatDryer, as the former; and in thatrefpe£f. a Cephalic : for which rea-ibn likewiie it is not fmoaked asTobacco. 'T.'s of great efteem inDiflempers of the Eyes : But itsJuice is much preferable to thediftill'd Water ; which ulèd out-wardly, is affirm'd to take off allSpecks, Films, Mills, and SufFu-iions.
