HYDRARGYRUS ACETATUS.

ACETATED QuiCKSILVER.

Take of purified Quickfilver one pound.

Diluted nitrous Acid two pounds.

Water of Kali as much as is fuf-cient.

Mix the Quickfilver, with the acid, in aglafs veffel, and difTolve it in a fand-bath ;then drop in by degrees the water of Kali, thatthe calx of Quickfilver may be precipitated :wafh this calx with plenty of diftilled water,and dry it with a gentle heat. Thefe thingsbeing done,

Take of the Calx of Quickfilver, juft nowdefcribed, one pound,

Acetous Acid as rauch as is ne-ceffary to diflolve the Calx.
