This is the Sal Martis of the laft Difpemfatory.The Operator muft be careful to make the mix-ture under a chimney, to avoid the pernicious ya-pour which arifes, and which catches fire on theapproach of a candle. If any cupreous particles aremixed with the filings, it may be known by drop-ping a little Aqua Ammoniae fura into fome of thefolution, which will change it to a fapphirine coloitr.It is given, as being ftronger, in fmaller dofes thanthe former preparations of Iron, viz. from half agrain to three or four grains in cafes of debilitvof fibrej chlorofis, &c.
