Olive-Oil, by weight, fixteen oun-ces.

Boil the Flowers of Brimftone, with theOil, in a pot flightly covered, untill they areunited.

In the fame manner is made SulphuratedPetroleum.

The Operator muft take care that the pipkin, orveffel, in which thefe preparations are boiled, be ca-pable of holding at leaß; three times the quantity ofthe ingredients. As foon as the mixture is nearlyat the point of ebullition, it rarifies fo much as cer-tainly to run over the fides of the veffel, and flamein a dangerous manner, unlefs removed in timefrom the fire. The fire fhould be gentle for fometime, and at length increafed tili the oil juft bub-bles, in which heat it fhould be kept untill all theSulphur appears diffolved. L,
