J^repared Kali.

Take of Pot-aßi two pounds.

Boiling diftilled Water three pints»

Difiblve the Pot-afh, and filtre the folu-tion through paper: evaporate this folutioritili a pellicle appears on the furface ; then fetit afide for a night, that the neutral falts maycrjflallize ; after which ppur ont the liquor,and boil away the whole of the water, con-ftantly ftirring, left any Salt fljjpuld adhere tQ,the pot.

In like manner h purifkd impure Kali from.the afkes of any kind of vegetable.

The fame Salt may be prepared from Tar~tar, burnt tili it becomes of an am. colour.

3 E M A R K.

This is intended to fupply the place of Sal Ab-ftnthii. It is given from three or four grains totifceen or more, properly diluted, as a diuretic.
