Burnt Hartfhorn is not now confidered as a pureearth, having been found to be a Compound of cal-careous earth and phofphoric acid. It is the weak-cft of the animal abforbents, or foluble in acids withthe moft difficulty ; but, whether it be of equal orfuperior ufe, in diarrhceas, to more powerful abfor-bents, muft bedetermined by obfervation.
