Degner found it remarkably ferviceable in an epi-demic dyfentery at Nimeguen in 1736; but the eure wasmore fpeedy and certain in fluxes of blood, and bloody mat-ter, than vyhen the difcharges were biiious ;—and, fror>ithe experiments of JuJJicu, during 15 years, it appears tobave been fuccefsful, not in dyfenteries only, but in chroni-ca! diarrhoeas of feveral fpecies.
