Aconitum Napellus,L.S.P.

This is a poifonous plant, an extraft of which was reucommended about twenty-fix years ago, by Dr. Störck, inrheumatic, venereal, and other painful, complainis. Hegave it in imall dofes, mixed with fugar, magnefia, ccc.which were to be gradually and cautioufly augmented. Hal-hr, in bis Hiß. Stirp. Hein, had fuppofed, from a bad figureannexed to Störck's traclr, that the plant, with which he hadmade his expenments, was the Acenilum cammarum Linn.the flowers of which, according to Adurray, are of a palerblue than thofe of the Aconitum Napellus and the helmetmuch longer, Syß. Feget. Linn. 1784, p. 504, and thefuppofition of Haller has been repeated by Berg'hts. It hasfince however been afferted from Vienna, that Störck's plantwas the Aconitum Napellus, reprefented in tab. 381 of 'Jac-quin , sß. ÄuH. the leaves of which are almoft fmooth, and onboth fides bright and fublucid ; by which it may be diftin-
