Raymonde Lullie greatly commendcth tliisoyle, approving it to be rather a celestiall or divinemedicine than humane, for because tliis in woundsworketh most miraculously which for his marvellouscommoditie is not so well to be used of the commonchirurgion ; because this precioua oyle healeth a woundbee the same never so bigge or wide, being aforewidestitched np, in the spaee of eleven dayes or twelve at themost. Bnt those that are small tliis oyle healeth inthree or four dayes by annoynting onely the woundtherewith and laying thereon a cloath wet in the same.Also for inward diseases this oyle worketh miracles ;for if yon give one dramme at a time to drinke withwhite wine it stayeth the shedding of the hayre eitheron the head or beard by annoynting the place therewith.Moreover, it is excellent in provoking of urine whichis stopped ; it helpeth stitches or paines in the loinesif you drink the foresaid quantitie with white wine.It helpeth the cold gowt or sciatica, and all othergriefes comming of cold.
