Young Thoron, who remained a captive, wasafterwards, at his mother’s intercession in Jerusalem,sent with her to Petra andMontreale (by the Arabscalled Karak and Shaubec), which were to be hisransom; but these fortresses refused to surrender;so he was led back to his prison at Damascus, andhis mother fled to Tyre, then the only town inPalestine not yfet taken by Saladin . 3

The rest of that Saturday, Saladin kept the field;but on Sunday marched against the citadel ofTiberias, and took it, and sent to count Tripolihis lady and child. That count had, however, diedof sorrow, too persuasive proof that he was notraitor.
