The seventh Grand Master, then, is Sir Robert,or Joubert, or De Osbert; greatly celebrated, yearsbefore, for the great ability with which he ex-ecuted the plan of Fulk, King of Jerusalem, ingetting over Poitiers, to espouse the young Princessof Antioch—which cleverness and royal confidencehad been ever since followed up, and at length led tothis remuneration. Of what country he was, is un-certain, so any may be given. It is likely that ^ 173the French historian would have told us ifhe was from France, and a Joubert; that being hissurname, and Robert, as in the Italian version, his
