The coat or shield is fractured in several places. On it is askull, and at top the crest as a helmet surmounted by twoarm-bones, the hands of which are grasping a ragged piece ofstone, and between them is placed an hour-glass. The sup-porters are a gentleman and lady in the dresses of the times.In the description of this cut Papillon has committed somevery absurd mistakes, already noticed in p. 97.
