The figures of the Deaths occasionally aboundin much humour, and always with appropriate characters.The names of the unknown artists were worthy of beingrecorded.

On an engraved title-page, representingan angel blowing a trumpet, with a motto from theApocalypse, Death or Time holds a lettered label withthe above inscription or title. In the background groupsof small figures allusive to the last judgment. Thenfollows a printed title:"Sterbenspiegel, das ist sonnenklareVorstellung menschlicher Nichtigkeit durch alle Stand undGeschlechter: vermittlest 60 dienstlicher kupferblatterenlehrreicher uberschrifTten und beweglicher zu vier stimmenauszgesetzter Todtengesangen, vor disem angefangen durchRudolffen Meyern S. von Zurich, &c.
