PLATE XXV. TUE COUNT.

XJeatii here adds to his usual employment that of avenger ofoppressed vassals. Ile is throwing with violence at thehead ofthis Lord, his coat of arms, the dear objcct of his pride, underthe weight of vvhich he is ready to make him fall. Ile appearstrampling under foot a flail, to mark his inhumanity to labourers,a class of society so necessary and respectable. On the groundalso are to be seen the remains of the helmet which formed thecrest of his arms, with the other Ornaments that decoratedthem.

On le voit foulera ses pieds un fieau, pour designer son inhumanite envers leslaboureurs, cette classe de la societe si necessaire & si respectable;on peilt encore remarques a terre, les debris du casquedont cesarmoiries etoient surmontees avec d'autres ornemens qui lesdueoroiant.
